Alright, public apology time... in the past I may have questioned deapee's logic of sticking tape to his sensor to remove dust.

Well, I decided to give it a try, low and behold it worked! Better than the copperhill method.

I've been converted.

I spend the 300.00 for the special senor cleaning kit.... Even then was at first scared to try it, but it worked like a charm.

And people keep dissing us and whackos for thinking Canon should have put the dust removal system on their 30D and all new cameras.

I've been using the copperhill for 3-4 years, but this turned out to be a very quick, easy, and effective way for cleaning... keeping a roll of scotch tape in the camera bag now.

300 bux!!! geez...
My buddy got this and says it works great, for like 50 bones you get maybe a dozen cleanings or so.
Cheaper than direct on Amazon for some reason.

Scotch tape still scares me...not as much as just blowing with my mouth, though :D

If I was designing a sensor, I'd try and figure out how to make one you could clean with spit and a T-shirt ...

I mean, that works well enough for lenses... :)

I just tried it and it worked very good, better than the sensor brush that i have.

You mean you can't?

Seems like the invention of "sensor tape" would be good about now. New branch for 3M or something, a sort of tape specially designed not to leave residue on a camera sensor. Would be ideal for field cleanings and less scary than the plain generic scotch variety.

What about Magic Tape, the cloudy stuff that doesn't grip so hard?
