Definitely the color, the black and white just seems too dark or something, can't quite put my finger on. Color has more pop, IMO |

The color one seems to have more depth and texture, especially on the mountain site. I like that one color one better.
The black of the sky blends into the mountain so it's kind of difficult to tell what it is that you are looking at first glance. Same for the whites in the clouds it blends in with the snow.
Thanks for including the thumb of the other picture so it was really quick to switch back and forward to compare. Everyone should do that :)

I like both, but agree that the color one has a bit more depth. Nice pic, by the way! |

B & W. The blue sky makes it too cluttered for me. The mountain has so much detail which is brought out in the B & W image. |

I love the colour - the black is too stark I think.

The sky and rock in the B&W version blend together a distict division between the two makes it odd to be comfortable with, where the color version separates the two well.
Personally I think this has a lot of potential for a stunning black & white, just needs a different post-processing method, or not as harsh. |

I agree, the sky tone doesn't work though the rest of the image looks great. Did you completely zero out the blue channel in channel mixer? You might want to play with a different mix of channel values and see what works. |

Nope, but I did go with mostly the red channel.
Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts. I've tried playing with different channel mixer settings, but every time I make the sky gray, it seems to lose a lot of contrast. Not sure where to go from here ...
Could you guys give it a shot? I think what I'm missing is a concept of what to shoot for more than the PS skills to get there.
