I have been using MPIX for all of my prints, but I am going to step up to the next level for printing my larger canvases and prints from weddings and seniors. I am wondering if any of you have recommendations on this? It would be great if they offered a couple of different canvas textures, many print sizes, were reasonably priced, and were fast.....

I do NOT recommend mpix for canvas prints. Pick somebody else. Anybody. (see my earlier reply about canvas in this thread.

I do, however, love their metallic prints.

dw...yeah I know...I have done a couple canvas from MPIX and they barely even look like canvas :)

I think Shutterfly actually prints on canvas, and I know that they are reasonably priced, but I've never actually done it and I've no idea about the quality. Perhaps you can talk to a customer service rep and get some kind of satisfaction guarantee or something before you pony up the $?

Edited to add, I've gotten regular prints from them before with nice results.

I am really looking for a place that can custom color correct if needed and somewhere that requires a professional account. Any one have suggestions?

I have not used them yet, but I have heard that www.adoramapix.com is good. The may 2006 issue of POP has a article on 10 places to get prints done and compares them all. You may want to check it out.

As long as your not a Picky, Irritating Customer I would take them here

Have you looked at whcc.com?

I have placed an order with Bay photo, just I'll see how they turn out. I have been considering sending same order to another place to compare...maybe I will try WHCC...I'll look into it.

If you start an account with WHCC they will do up to 5 free 8x10's for you to make sure your computer is calibrated well- good way to see if you like them.

I won't do a canvas from MPIX again either but they are my number one supplier of everything else. My favorite place for canvas and other fine-art Giclee printing is Horizon's West Imaging. www.hwi.com. I had them print one of my tulip photos in a 16 x 20 on canvas and it looks amazing.

If you're looking for a full-service printer who will take your original and give it the works to perfection...

Candid2000

I haven't tried them yet but I am going to use them for my first wedding album.

after dwterry turned me off to mpix because of the canvas prints, i went w/ bayphoto. I printed 2 8x12 canvas on stretcher frames, a bunch of 8x10s both color and black adn white and a 7x20 on matboard.

I was very impressed by all of it, especially the canvas. They also have a 50% off your first order.

this may be a very dumb question - after reading the comments here, i don't think i'll be using mpix for canvas purposes, but i was just curious to know if "canvas on stretcher frames" is the same as giclee - i've had giclee prints done by a local place in my town, but i wanted to get some done online.

thanks!
