Hi
I was thinking of starting a blog. I saw my friend's blog at //www.squarespace.com but it is not free.

I am thinking going with a free service.

What i like best in the above mentioned service is that it offers features like personal website i.e offers facility of say writing journals on more than one subject.

Thus i can say write on photography, travel and food. I can write for three topics in one blog address but entry for each topic is visible under particular topic i.e all photography entry are visible under Photography Heading, Travel entries under Travel Heading,

Is this some how possible in free blog sites

I would like to write on 3-4 topics at one blog address but under different heading.

P.S
I just realized it is called multiple blogs on one page

Are you after free hosting or free blogging software? There's quite a bit of free blogging software out there ( moveabletype. wordpress, or gallery & pixelpost for photo blogs ) but they assume that you have your own web space to stick the software on.

I can only think of blogger that does free blog hosting. I think www.sixapart.com have a hosted solution, but I reckon you probably have to pay for it.

You're going to have difficulty seemlessly having three multiple blogs on a free service. You can set up more than one blog on blogger.com and then adjust the layout to include links to the other blogs. Otherwise you can make use of categories and file all the various posts under the various category headings. So if people wanted to read photography they would click on that category and have all posts posted into that category available to read.

Otherwise you would have to use a free blog code and host it somewhere. There are some free web hosting sites that will run the various blog codes, but a lot of the blogs require a MSQL database and that is usually not offered with free hosting.

Thanks for the advice.

I have decided to go for one blog with different categories.

I am just not able understand how to to make categories or file each journal entry into different categories.

I am using blogger.com

I like LiveJournal. It shows the last twenty entries made. I use it more for my friends and family, so it's very "bloggish", but it would be excellent for a straight photo format as well. I pay $15 annually for mine, but there are free accounts available.

Myspace is good for networking, but is really a horrible site overall in terms of server wonkiness, user-friendliness, and general design. I use it strictly for photos, and I've found it a very frustrating environment, but I have accumulated a fairly large number of "friends" with zero effort.
