No, it's not a DPC ribbon, but it is still blue, and it is still mine! It was in the advanced amatuer class at the Utah State Fair. Here is the photo:



It was up against some pretty tough photos, so I feel really good about it and just wanted to share my success with you guys.

I was going to PM you and ask if you had entered this year - guess I know now.

I'll bet it's fun to walk down the aisle at the fair and see that next to your shot!

I didn't enter anything this year - to keep the way clear for you. :-p

Did you like the advanced amatuer? I like the bigger prints much better from a viewing and entering standpoint. All those 8x10s are tough to view.

Anyway, congrats!

Congratulations Scott!!! I saw that image there and loved it. I had *no* idea it was from a fellow DPC'er. Way to go!!!

Congrats!!

I do have a question though... why did you choose the advanced amatuer category?? The reason I am asking is I also entered a contest for the City of Austin but entered in the pro category because I didn't feel that it would be fair not to. I have made money off of my images so that was my main criteria...just wondering :)

At the Utah State Fair ... the Advanced Amateur division is for those who make money off of selling their pictures. The Professional division is for those that make more than 50% of their income off of selling their pictures.
