One of my bits and pieces outtakes has gotten pretty positive response, including a couple of favorites. I just recropped it, so I'd appreciate opinions on which is better.
Or would you go another way entirely?

I like the tighter crop on this one. Much less busy and the focus is really on the egg and not what's going on behind it.

I'm not usually a fan of square crops, but in this case I think it works pretty well. You need to shave 4 pixels to make it truly square.
To answer your question...I like the square crop version better. ;^) |

I wasn't even trying for a square crop. So you're right! Better to be right on or way off so it doesn't look like a near-miss. I'll recrop and reupload.
While I'm at it, I'll also clone out a few distractions.

Gonna have to go with the tighter crop... simpler and more appealing.

Will make that 6x6 or 12x12 print a little easier to put together too! ;^) |

You should start "trying" to get crops that you can print from...2x1, 1x1, 3x2, etc. You should just take the crop tool to your pictures or you won't be able to print them without them stretching or getting cut where you don't want them to be. |

If anyone ever wanted a print of one of my shots, I'd think about it. :) |

Like the tight crop; also places center of interest off-center to increase impact. |

I prefer the first one...I do not like the tight crop. |
