Ok...

I am going to be doing a lot of model shoots in september. What are good public locations for these shoots (public, yet with no people?) - some of them are semi nude shots and maxim/FHM type shots and I don't want random people seeing my models and such. Yet I want an urban type feel, etc.

What are good general locations for this sort of thing? Please let me know.

And if you live in Atlanta and have any ideas thats even better!

Kevin, I'll chat with you about some places at the GTG. I mostly shoot on location, though I'm on the west side. There's a place called Cochran Mill park that has a nice waterfall and though it's not secluded there are times, if you're lucky, that you might find it empty. And if you go up above the falls you may have even better luck of not having people around.

Anyhoo, we can chat more at the GTG. Looking foward to meeting you. :)

I'd say find the semi bad part of town and do the shoots by the graffiti walls and old loading docks.

Great shots loki - the problem is that old parts of town are like an hour from me and most of my models.

Hey, how did you make the background on that last shot?

It's a pretty easy technique. Make a new layer, take your paint brush, and turn the opacity down to about 30%. You can mess around with the brush size.

Loki's right on the location. I'd also suggest that timing is an issue. Try EARLY Saturday mornings or early Sunday mornings. Those two times get you a little less congestion shooting in an urban setting.

How did you get the lines to be perfectly straight? Is there a key you hold in photoshop that makes you draw straight lines?

I believe it is the shift key

Actually all I did was took my brush and went back and forth REALLY fast like you're scraching a lotto ticket. I did the entire scratchyness without letting go of my mouse.

I love alley shots. I am getting some more on the 2nd. I think yours are very nice and I am going to be stealing that overlay idea, because that came out great.

My alley shot. (not a single model however)
