So my camera is in the following setup.....

100mm lens with a nylon covering rear element and not covering the connections, Manuel, 400 iso, 5.6f, auto servo, auto focus, rgb color matrix, 4000 shutter speed.

BUT, when I shoot a pix, the shutter speed reduces to 250 and won't go higher.

What is up with the shutter speed?

You have your flash turned on and 1/250 is the highest sync speed. Set your flash to high speed sync and then you can go over 1/250.

Interesting that there were 2 previous threads today about slow shutter speeds and flash.
