So sorry to hear. I am glad that he had his son by his side, as that is a little blessing in the midst of sadness. The photo looks like he was loved and loving.

My sincerest condolences Lisa, on this very sad day.

Judging by the photos, I get the impression your family was blessed by knowing such a wonderful and spirited soul.

Although difficult at this juncture, the time will come where you will celebrate this person's presence in your life and that of your family, and the wonderful memories he generated.

Bigs hugs for now...

Getting older sucks.
I never remember as a kid, anyone being gravely ill, passing away, etc, yet the older we get, the more it happens.
At least there are memories , which is all we really can ever be survived by - cherish them.

my kids just woke up and I had to tell them. That was hard. Jake just started crying and Robert looks angry. I guess we all deal with death in different ways.

thank you all for your prayers and kind wishes. Yesterday we lost a great man. Now comes the inevitable organisation of funeral matters etc. This is something that has always annoyed me. Not the actual organising of it but it always just seems to happen so fast. Like, right this person has passed now quick do this and do that. There is no time to grieve.
Am I completely making no sense this morning? Man, i am tired.

Yes, you're making sense. It's so busy in the actual organizing that you feel almost dizzy. I feel for you, lentil. Condolences from here to you and all of your family.

So sorry Lisa.

Please take time to grieve - just a few moments alone to sit quietly, remember and shed those tears. The world can wait.

My thoughts are with you and all your family Lisa. {{hugs}}

I lost my partner of 10 years just over a year ago and totally understand where you are coming from with all the arranging, it seems there really is no time to step back and grieve.

As Pauline has said just make sure you take a moment amongst the hustle and bustle of the next few days when you need to, no one would deny you that.

Take care x
