I'm looking into purchasing a gallery to post my photos on. I currently have a photobucket, but that is FAR from anything nice....basically just somewhere to store things.
I really like the looks of smugmug...just seems to be more professional, but I don't know a lot about these two sites.
Which one do you suggest? |

Smugmug, definitely! Customization is incredible, and customer service can't be beat. If you do go Smugmug, feel free to use this discount code. :)
Seriously though, I've never been anything but pleased with Smugmug's service or their prints. Also, I've never had a client complain about the quality of their prints, which is phenomenal to say the least.
Good luck to you whatever you decide.

thanks for the info...I think I'll be going with smugmug then, and use L2's code since she responded first...but what is that all about? If I sign up under your code, do you get something? |

The code gives you a $5 discount, and yes, if you use the code I will get credit for a referral.
But really, I'd have to recommend them no matter what. My own site isn't particularly customized, but some people have done some really awesome things with theirs. Konador and Rex both come to mind as people who could help you jazz it up once you get it going.
Mainly, though, the prints just rock. So whether you are going pro with Smugmug or are a basic user, you won't be sorry!
Cheers,

Smugmug seems a lot more customizable so I went with them. Even more if you upgrade to Pro.

It was my roundabout way of telling her that a lot of people turn off signatures. |

That's awesome...is your site one of the 'professional' ones? And how did you do that? does smugmug offer those changes, or was it done with html? |

That is a pro account. They raised there prices last year and I went to pro to stay grandfathered in at the low price. Also all CSS and html coding. But with ease if done with the help from the pros at //www.dgrin.com. If you get an account let me know and I will help you as much as I can.
I won't be off work until Tuesday so if I am not quick to respond don't worry I will within two days.
