As a 2Peas member, I was stunned to read the thread about this person stealing your (collective) images. Just wanted you all to know they are gorgeous, and deserving of attention (just not this sort of attention). If you read the thread on 2Peas, it appears that the culprit's website has been found. It's on the 4th page of the thread, most of the way down the page.

Thanks - for those of you who are shooters, come play with us. We are usually a great bunch of angry villagers and fun to hang with! :)

Kudos to the Two Peas folks who helped bring this incident to light. You guys are flippin' alright!

Talk about stupid criminals.... this person should be drawn & quartered. Few things worse than a thief, IMO...

Yep, this is the culprit's profile here.

Don't go crazy PMing or you might get in trouble here.

Huh? I didn't PM anyone. I'm confused.

No not you. I meant everybody reading this thread. Don't know if there's a rule here against going crazy PM someone. If not who will start :P

How ironic, she was dq'd for protecting her image.

Did you used to have another username? I was trying to find the owner of the so-called "Sarah" pic, and I knew I'd seen it... but I didn't remember it with your name. Then again, I'm old and the ol' memorybanks ain't what they used to be...

Nope, I've always been puzzled. Thanks for looking out for me though, Deb! I also felt flattered for about 30 seconds that some of my images had been stolen. Now I feel kind of sick (and really angry) about the whole thing. It's creepy.

Edit to say thank you to the TwoPeas people who've helped out with this! Hope the profiles are gone soon from the site.

So if ya'll have figured out who they are or at least sign in names. Why doesn't someone contact the site, do a little more research and sue them in small claims court. Someone in DPC lives close to them. The original owner could sign over distribution rights to the other DPC member, file a very easy and inexpensive small claims suit for $5000.00 for violation of copyright and deflamation. I believe most courts would make very short action against them. Small claims is easy and does not need a lawyer. I don't encourage lawsuits but this sounds like it could be fun ;)

Wow, nice, even one of mine, thanks for pointing that out!

This is the note I wrote to the webmaster:

//www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?gallery=1&cmd=display&layout_id=864293&show=5

This picture belongs to me, myself and I, NOT the user who claims they took it.

Here is a link to the original picture on DPChallenge: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=314875

I expect this picture to be removed from you website within 48 hours from now, Sunday evening, August 6, 2006 at 7:02 PM or there will be legal repercussions for copyright infringement.

Thank you

Deannda L. Neufer

This is the comment I left on the shot:
While I must say I am honored that you feel one of my photographs is worth stealing, I must also say I am thoroughly and totally ticked off and one thing people that do know me is NOT TO TICK ME OFF! I thank everyone who commented on the swing picture, it was taken at my children's school playground in NEW YORK and here is a link to the original entry that in a DPChallenge contest: Swing

For those of you who have been following this user, she is just that, a user, a user of other peoples pictures and talent. I am willing to bet not ONE of the pictures in this portfolio is hers. Most seem to have been stolen from DPChallenge
and I have a feeling this portfolio will be quite empty before the next 48 hours is up or there will be legal repercussions.

Thank you

I am so sorry to everyone who has had their photos stolen. Not that it's a good thing....it absolutely isn't. But, I knew nothing of this site before this issue came up on 2peas. Many of you now have faithful followers! You all are amazing photographers and I'm so happy to have found you....even if it was in a bad way. I can only hope to be as good as you all someday! Thank you for your amazing inspiration.

I was wondering when the village burning would begin. Can I ride shotgun?

Looks like "her" "Bokeh II" entry will be DQ'd as well, since the challenge started 6/14 and she already had that image in her 2 peas portfolio as of 6/9.

Sorry, I ride a one-seater, but you can bring one!

notice that in her first challenge, she was disqualified for adding "cl photography", which is the copyright of someone else, so she stole that photo too.
08/06/2006 07:21:05 PM · #144
Before people start a smear campaign against Christopher Lawrence, it looks like there may be more than one CL out there working in photography. I really would hate for legitimate, honest and talented people to get caught in the crossfire because of mistaken identity.

//www.icepoetry.com/
//www.clicsphotography.com/
//www.grddesign.com/photo.html

Interestingly, a search for "Stephanie Lawrence photography" turns up nothing. (Assumed from what I've pieced together from reading both threads that CL is her husband.)

P.S. Do check out the "icepoetry" link - neat stuff, perhaps some good inspiration for the DPC set!

Hi, I'm one of regulars on the 2peas photography board. We are appalled at what has happened. I've contacted a few artists on Pbase about this. I'm glad you were contacted as well. Please know that we at peas do not condone this behaviour. As far as we can tell, only two members have stolen images and we're pretty sure they are the same person. We're also feeling embarrased that we fell for this fake & would love to give congratulations where due. So please do not hesitate to post links to the original photos.

Here's a message posted at Pea, it looks like they take it serious ... kinda, they only now asked for offednding photos to be removed instead of locking or banning the offenders. They even acknowlege they could be legally obligated ... wow!

"I don't know the reason for this but someone here on Peas is downloading images from other photographers websites and posting it in her gallery claiming it to be her own shots. Of course, many of you posted gushing Peanut Praise for the photos.

This is what made one Pea suspect something. The style of photography (both people and non people) was so varied that it was a red flag that maybe some of the stuff wasn't taken by this poster. The other red flag was that this poster asked a question on the board that indicated that she (yes, it's a she) didn't have very much experience in Photoshop and some of the images show extensive Photoshop capabilities. There were other red flags which will remain unsaid for now.

After much searching by the first Pea who suspected and others here (including myself), we found many of the images on other websites that were taken by photographers other than the poster.

That folks, is a violation of Federal Copyright Law and is also UNETHICAL! Not only that, with 2Peas allowing the photos to remain (we have reported it to the bosses here), it possibly opens 2Peas to be liable for the copyright violation. I say possibly because I'm not 100% positive but as the owners of the website, they are ultimately responsible for its content."

This one is stolen for sure, also.
