		| | Did anyone see the August issue of National Geographic? There is a feature on New Orleans. Some of the photos have an odd look to them... it is hard to pin down what it is. To me, they look like photos of a scaled model. Is it because of the depth of field, perhaps? 
 Here are some examples of what I am talking about, though there are better ones in the magazine:

 I bet it is because of the camera used. A large format 1950's Speed Graphic.

		| | I think the effect is clearly from the camera he used -- a 1950's Speed Graphic.  But I agree, it is pretty similar to the effect created by a Lensbaby. |

		| | Ya looks like NG is pushing the edge between true photojournalism and artistic photo manipulation. Maybe not with software but with lens distortion. |
