Rikki

Post your examples of Rikki'd photos.

Oh, and if ya'd prefer bashing him... fell free to do that in the appropriate thread.

I have no photos to post but I would like to say, I am glad you started this thread and I hope that this idea of keeping-things-positive stays honored.

I haven't gotten good enough yet.... have the inspiration, just not the skills. :(

Very nice! I can't do that yet. But I will someday soon. :) Great idea for a thread too. :)

To me posting to this is quite in appropriate and not in the spirit of DPC. I hope this is put on rant page immediately. To me uplifting a cheat is not what DPC is about. Just my honest opinion. Van

Sadly, "Rikki'd" photos now mean more than just the style of the photo itself.

I agree with you. Well said.

Yeah fotoman, you might inspire me to start Photoshop and try to learn something. God is everyone on the beat the dead horse subject of Rikki bashing? Spirt of DPC I thought was to better your skill, compete, in photograhpy, not bashing.

I came here to learn and improve, and face Rikki's images are a far sight better then mine.

Can we all agree to disagree. Not all of us will see eye to eye on this particularly controversial subject. I'm gonna have to side with Leroy on this one (that's probably a first!). If you don't agree with the spirit of this thread, then happily put it on your ignore list and slip back over to the above listed thread to continue your Rikki bashing. For those of us who respected Rikki for his photography, then I for one think this is a refreshing thread and a very suiting way to pay tribute.

This is the closest I've got:

These were my images that were inspired by Rikki. I think there were only two.

The fireworks is a photo I took a month previous to the challenge. I had my youngest son lean in front of it. He put on some great wow expressions, but then got bored and was actually watching play school when this photo was taken.

This was simply a SP on my laptop monitor. The monitor laid down and a sheet of glass over the top with hair gel smeared over it. Simple...but oh so Rikki! Here is the original.

Rikki...you have caused such a bang on this site...and you went out with a bang. Not the way you wanted...but certainly one to be remembered. You were interviewed for your work before this scandal started...so that in itself tells the world you are a uniqe and great photographer. What happened after that is irrelevant...as the the world has DPC and many other sites in it...but DPC isn't the world. Continue to shine man.

Gonna do the reverse. One of the biggest thrills I received was when I discovered that Rikki had posted a pic inspired by one of my own. Meant a hell of alot to me.
