hi all,
did we discuss about avatars and smilies in dpc forums ?
if not, i would like to see that feature available, and you ?

I wouldn't mind smilies being available but avatars can look really messy. I like the 'neat' look of the DPC forums!

Yeah I love smilies. And with avatars it will more personal and you can easier track your own comment in a thread. but moving avatars will be too much, so just a little jgp would be nice!

One thing I really appreciate about this site is how clean and neat the forums look, especially if you turn off signatures. It makes forum browsing so much easier and less cluttered; IMHO this makes for a far more professional looking site.

I hear ya. Most of the "I wanna make money with photography" sigs are quite .

I always have the sigs turned off. It's the only way to fly.

We've already got avatars, and you can import smilies .

Nah, I wouldn't support individualised avatars on this site, though I use them on another site.

I've seen too many awfully ugly forums with huge banner avatars that flash and rotate and crap - it makes it all look so unprofessional and makes me not want to read anything ever. I love the look of DPC as it is!

I would like it if MY posts were a different color just for me, so when I come back it is easier to see where to start reading from again.

(I know we have the little arrows now, but the color would apply in a different way)

I, too, like the tidy look on DPC.

Does anybody actually leave the signatures ON ?

I hate avatars and I wish sigs were limited to one line of text, just IMHO :) Sorry.

I wouldn't like large avatars and would hate moving ones...those are just distracting and make things look cluttered, but sometimes I think it would be fun if we could all choose our little tiny avatars clothes the way the SC can, even if it were just simple stuff like the shirt and hair color.

I think it's a good idea, although I don't like flash avatars either. They're anoying. Smilies are not necessary to me. I like the clean and neat look of this forum too, but I think the use of avatars would be a good idea.

i like having the option to just click on a smiley to insert it like on DPC Fanatics.

No avatars. I like the little people by each name, and the perks like Santa hats that they get are enough to be fun, while still being clean and neat.
