Ok, so I was all ready to capture my blue ribbon this week until I decided to clean my camera. There was this one little strand of lint in the shutter somewhere so I take off my lens and begin to clean. 30 minutes later there was 20X the amount of dirt on my camera from me "cleaning" it.
Thank gawd too! I woulda hated to go aainst some of these photos. Some of these are just amazing! I'm not even going to start voting yet. I need time to clean my camera some more.

Out of curiosity, what were you cleaning it with? I want to make sure I never buy whatever it was you were using :)

I have this cheapo camera cleaning kit. I have compressed air and that didn't work, so I took one of those lint-free pieces of paper and dabbed some of that lens solution and tried to clean around the inner camera. The problem was when I tried a q-tip. Oops! hehe... got most of it out, but I think there is some dust in there still. It's time for it to be serviced anyhoo.

Pehaps it's time to revive the thread where people offered suggestions of achieving that soft-focus look (since the blur filter wasn't allowed); I think smearing Vaseline on the lens was the winning choice... |
