This is the new show that I started last month.

It is a second season show, with the first season only airing 5 episodes.

It is either an ABC, or an ABC Family broadcast, not really sure, but is produced by the same people that gave you "Alias".

Touchstone Pictures is the backing company, and it is owned by its parent company...Disney Pictures.

Yep, I am employee of the rat.

It is a tough show. Our first week of shooting netted the crew on average a 75 hour week. Nothing to brag about really since it sends our paychecks into the higher income tax bracket, kills physically from lack of sleep, and emotionally from lack of family life.

When it finally airs, please give it a look, at least for a couple of months to keep me employed. Please make my pain worth while while I am on production.

The pain I carry will result from an image on your tube, or panel.

I won't be visible as much anymore for a while on DPC. Only on rare, inspirational occasions when I am awake.

Thanks in advance.

Good luck with the show. I don't know if we would get it over here...mind you...I think I would have to watch TV in the first place...shesheshe!!

Anyways...take care of the back.

How is viewership determined as far as keeping a show on the air for at least an entire season? I don't know much about tv and ratings...can they track automatically what people are watching or is it based in things like Nielsen ratings? How do TiVo and other dvrs affect the rating system, if at all? Your post got me thinking about these things and I thought maybe you'd know.

A proven rating/retention system: if I like it, it'll get cancelled. Works every time.

In light of that revelation, I promise not to watch the show. Or if I do, I promise not to like it.

I am not privy to all the insights of ratings. To me its a dark, scary place where people are forced to watch images of shows until they blink, and that's when a show gets canceled.

I do know it is highly effective, and kind of scientific.

Nielson is part of it, pre-production "groups" tell if an actor or the writing is going in the correct direction, sales from the sponsors, emails and snail mail from the fan base, internet hits... that's all I know.

Tivo??? Not sure if there is some way if productions companies can tell if their show is being watched that way. Good question.

My friend and I LOVED this show. I can't wait for it to come back again. Great job on making it what it is! I read somewhere it was slated to be a mid-season replacement... is that not right? Will it be back in the fall? Oh, I hope I hope I hope!!

American Horse,

I caught this show last season and I love it! I have a few people at work who are really into the show too. My female friends at work turned me on to the show b/c she said that it was "my life"! My name is Brian, and the funny thing is my life has some very similar experiences....if you ever need any ideas for new episodes....tell the writers to contact me ;)

So my Big Q.... when does the new season start? We were all surprised when it ended...then realized that the first season was only 5 episodes!!!!!!!

I watched all 5 episodes and it was my new 'guilty pleasure.' I was dissapointed when it was only 5 episodes, though! Glad to hear it is returning :)
