Ok.. ok ok ok... I think I have a GREAT idea now...
(I should win an "idea ribbon" for this one)
You know "some" of us have a picture for our profile... right... why can't we use the very same image, and just resize it in forums HA? HA? HA?

I have to agree with alfresco here. I like the clean and simple look of the forums here. While you took a nice photo and made it into a tastefully done little icon, just imagine if we had to look at oh, say, cheese photos over there ever time we came into the forums! ;)

I HATE CUSTOM AVATARS!!!!!!!
I plead that this be left just like it is. Only SC needs special identification, and there's plenty of good reason for it. If everybody and their brother all of a sudden has custom stuff, no longer will SC be identifiable in these forums.

BUT WE DO have custom icons! Male, Female, Whatever the other one is, and the bag-head.... what more do we need??? :-P

You got that right, the operative word being "serve": I will confess to having put a hotdog on white bread for my own consumption. I've also wrapped them in tortillas. But I certainly wouldn't "serve" them to guests that way.
In any case, I don't think this bear would be happy with such a food-phallic icon. I do appreciate the "find", Puggers, but I'll pass on it.
ON a broader note, I really DON'T think custom avatars for members is a good idea in DPC; as others have pointed out, one of the beauties of the place is its clean look, and that's due in large measure to a combination of lack of advertising and standardized avatars. I get really tired of the "look" of forums like Fred Miranda where you can use any image you like as an avatar; the avatars, the sidebars, compete witht he messages in a most unappealing way.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Robert on this one.
IF it does happen to go through, then at least give us the option of not seeing it, just how we can hide the signatures. It might be neat, but I think that our profiles are customizable (spelling?) enough. Also, with all the thankless work the SC does, I think it's nice for them to have something unique and cool. |

I really like the Profile Picture thing...and this i like as well making th SC stick out more so they can have there Profile picture as well but be highlighted to be noticed. But some people dont have a profile pic of them selves it a cartoon or something... but i still like the Smaller picture thing it would still look good i think. I dont like the Animated icon or stuff like that for an icon...but do like the Self image thing....

I thought we gave up the picture idea many rows ago...
We could have a few little icons to choose from, and if it's possible, SC cells could be different color to be noticed more.
I too think picture idea is not good, because of "some" people here :P |
