I am quite afraid of cleaning my camera - never done it and never want to. But here is the thing - for the "Basic Editing" challenges am I allowed to clone out sensor dust?
Thanks,

No sensor cloning in basic. |

nope.
You can either clean the sensor or "risk it"
Personally, as long as it's not TOO bad I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'd never marked a photo down because of a few spots of sensor dust - especially in basic. |

Cool - thanks.
Anyone know a way to clean a sensor for cheap? Ive seen kits but they are so expensive. |

Think how much you spent on your camera + lenses.
Is it really worth having your lovely images marred by a little dust ?
I have a 20D also and bought the visibledust brush kit and you cant go wrong.
A couple of light sweeps and voila, dust free images again and again.
Granted the kits arent cheap, but when you consider you can use them over and over again with amazing results it really is worth it in the long run, trust me ! |

Visibledust
Great...thanks, David, for the information. Have you only tried this brand? |

No, I've never tried anything else - this was the 1st and only sensor cleaning kit I've tried and it really works well.
All the info is on the site itself - just make sure you order the 20D kit as they do kits for the 350D's also which have different sized brushes ! |

I concur with David....The Sensor brush method is a 5 minute job and it works amazingly well. |

I just cleaned my sensor of the first time today. I ordered the Copperhill kit (it's not that expensive if you consider how long it's supposed to last) and it was quite easy and as far as I know, I didn't break anything. |
