So how does the first week in October sound? Weather is pretty good then and if a day at a Disney park is planned the crowds are not too bad then either.

How does camping at Disney sound? I can try to get a group rate.

Whichever weekend it is, however, I can make it. For me, it'll pretty much be weekends only after school starts (early August) since I take my son to and from school. Besides, he's a registered user also (yakatyou) and would like to attend the GTG.

Camping anywhere south of and lower than the Smokey Mountains in October is questionable. It's still too damned hot and humid! I love camping and usually camp several times a year, but I can't sleep in those conditions. If camping is a consideration because of cost, then there are plenty of economical accomodations in the Disney area.

Let's keep this thread going and make this GTG happen.

The disney parks offer some really nice opportunities. I love going to the parks to shoot. I went there today and tried out a lens I rented. Look here.

How about planning the GTG for the first week of October. We can try to get Mandy to go with us. Maybe we can get some interest in this GTG from visitors to Central Florida. What do you think Rob?

I could make it on the first weekend in October, however, I'll be making the 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive on the weekend before, so I'd prefer to combine both activities in one trip. I would arrive on Friday evening, attend the convention for about 2 to 3 hours on Saturday morning and leave the Orlando area late Sunday afternoon or early evening.

In other words, if this GTG is set for the weekend of September 30 then I could meet up with those who attend, from late Saturday morning through early Sunday afternoon.

I'm keeping an eye on this thread. My schedule, between the kids, clients, etc., has been a bit nuts lately so I cannot commit to this GTG yet, but I'll keep watching and will know more in a few weeks.

I'm a local so I can meet just about any time here. With enough notice I can make a weekday except Thursdays when I have class. I is a college stoodent. :)

I was wondering if there were going to be any new GTG in Central Florida.

Depending on when exactly this is going to take place and if I'll have a new mode of transportation by then (my parents don't trust the used car they bought for me to get to Orlando, which I just found out after suggesting going to Tampa for a Brad Paisley concert this weekend), I might be able to make it.

I'd be pleased to go too except I can't make it on the 7th of October. If anything can be arranged that does not interfere with that date , I'm in. I'll read this thread periodically and I'm sure ASainz320 will keep me updated.

I'm good for any GTG in Orlando or south of Orlando. There are many good places around there; one of my favorites being Key West but I understand that Orlando is closer to more people here. Anyways, I think this is a great idea and a good chance to learn from fellow photographers.

Don't think it would really work for a GTG but if anyone is interested the largest reptile show in the country is next weekend in Daytona. Would offer some unique opportunities to shoot various snakes, geckos and more.
