I was thinking about designing some t-shirts, mugs, etc and selling on cafepress, just for fun. I needed a pic of a caduseus for a background image. So, silly me, buys 10 credits in order to purchase a pic I like. Then at the checkout for the item, I was reading the terms of the agreement and it does not allow you to use istock images at cafepress!!!!!!!!!

Well, there goes $10.

*Sigh*

iStock has some extended licening for stuff like that now. It costs a good bit more.

Stock photography isn't to be used for resale on stuff you would sell at cafepress... That requires different licencing.

If you are doing it just for fun, I think Cafe press has a one-off type feature where you can design a product and just buy it yourself - or you can put them in a store that is not publicly available and just buy them for yourself. This still might violate the terms however.

I would recommend just right-clicking a DPC image and using that. ;-) LOL

just kidding! don't throw rocks at me. ;-)

Oooh, good idea! ;o)

Dreamstime has one on a white background I really like that I downloaded. I guess I better read their agreement more carefully too!

Dreamstime has the same deal. You'll have to purchase an extended license.

Thanks, mk. I'll look into it!

Anyone know of a stock site that allows using it at cafepress?

Hey Jennifer..
why don't you just pick a shot from one of our DCPers and paypal the $$ to him/her? it'll be much cheaper that way and our friendly photographers get to "earn" more.. :)

Cheers

What kind of image are you looking for?

Edit: Nevermind.
