These are my cats Dalli and Sammy. The one on the right is Sammy. She's 17 years old and is not doing well.

The other one is Dalli, she's 18.

Both had their moment of fame a while back in the 90s,

//www.catsinparis.com

This site was very popular in its day. It was written up in several online and print articles, used as a travel site, even translated into Korean for the Korean Education Ministry.

Anyway, Sammy is sick. She's been diagnosed with cancer. She is sweetest can I've ever known. No attitude, always playful, not too needy but still affectionate. I've had her since she was 6 weeks old. We are trying to make her comfortable and keep her pain free. I don't know how the next week or even few days will go.

I know I'm being a little pathetic, but I'm hoping for a good vibe from the DPC cat people out there.

Thanks for listening.

Major good vibe coming your way!

So sorry about your kitty. It sounds like she had a wonderful life and brought you lots of joy. Your website is adorable and really made me smile. My thoughts are with you in your time of sadness.

It is painful losing a pet...especially one that you have cared for 17 years. Just remember all the joy and laughter she brought to you. Best wishes to you.

Cats unlike people tend to know where they stand in the physical world, I believe that sincerely.

Careful, she doesn't stick around just because of her loyalty to you. I would say with a tremendous amount of affection, let her know its o.k. to let go.

Good vibes to you. Hope all is well.

After I posted to this thread I thought "Sure has been a bad week for cats". Then I went outside to feed my beloved kitty and something is seriously wrong with her. She is staggering and unable to eat. She is resting under my anxious observation. I guess I am in need of some good vibes too:(

:( That doesn't sound good...I hope your kitty is just hot and not really sick. Purrs and good vibes headed your way...

Good vibes to all the cats who need it.
We just lost our beloved 14 yr old cat not long ago. Most people who are not cat people do not understand. I understand.
Good luck and hugs, kisses, strokes and pats to all the cats who need it.

Thanks Laurie,
Just spoke with vet. He said it sounds like Idiopathic Vestibular Disease and will probably go away on it's own. I'm watching her for 24 hours. Thanks for all the good vibes; and I'm sending more to David right now.

I had this ocnversation with her last night. Very tough to let go. I just don't want her to suffer. We are watching her closely. When and if the time comes, I'll do what is best for her.

Strange cat occurrences continue...but this one is at least happy. Byron goes to the grocery store, comes back with an 8 week old Siamese mix the kids have already named Sugar. She's skittish and tiny, and is cream-colored with brown points and has crystal blue eyes. Photos will follow eventually, when she stops hiding and allows us to fiddle with her.

Just what I needed...to be staff to yet another animal in this house. At least she's a girl! ;)

Well, the only other cat is a girl as well, so the three of us will defend our femininity against the other four guys and the male dog. We're still outnumbered, but we're gaining on them. ;)

update:

Sammy died peacefully this morning. She has a great weekend, was moving around more than since this started. She even came out to the living room Sunday and scammed some of my hamburger.

But she looked weak this morning. I had her purring before I left for work. My wife called me a couple of hours later and said they were on the way to the vet. Sammy was having trouble holding her head up. She died just before I arrived.

My wife and 6 year old son were in tears when I walked in. I knew she was gone.

Thank you everyone for all your kind thoughts.

She was a sweet cat and we miss her already.

I'll post a few pictures tonight in case anyone is interested.

Thanks for the update. I was just thinking about you and your poor kitty last night. Sorry you lost such a beloved pet. It's nice that she had such a nice life and peaceful ending.

So sorry to hear about Sammy. Losing a beloved pet is always heart wrenching. Try to concentrate on remembering the wonderful times you and your family had with her. I know how hard it is. Best wishes.
