We went to an animal park just outside of Phoenix named Out of Africa today.

Its a small park but you can get very close to the animals. In one show the trainers get right in with the tigers and play in the water. It was unbelievable.

In another show they let children come down and get personal with a large snake.
I don't know the little girl in the photo but it made me nervous.

The photos are not great and the fence was a big problem but I still think they are interesting.

wow.. without that darn fence those tiger shots could have been really incredible. Although I suppose the fence was moderately necessary. = )

I did NOT need to know that snakes that big even EXIST! Tell me where it's from and I will remember never to go there!

Well this snake is near Phoenix, Arizona but I think it came from the Amazon. I've heard that some people keep them as pets! I know I'd never be able to sleep with something like that in my house.

Pretty nice pics! I wonder if the tiger is declawed. Also, it looks like the tiger (in the shot on the right) is about to land on the trainer, all be it in water, it looks rather shallow. I would think (considering the cats weight) that it might hurt a little bit...OUCH!

Looks like a cool place, I thank you for sharing it!

There were actually four tigers in the enclosure and they said that none of them were de-clawed, I saw their teeth.

I didn't know they fed kids to snakes anymore...I wonder if you can get 'em at Petcetera. Feeder kids, $5/dozen.

Wow! I agree about not wanting/needing to know about snakes that large! LOL.. The tigers are gorgeous.. but I certainly think that it is not an animal I would want to play with like those guys!! LOL

Here is my "zoo" pic..

someone should arrest the parents for child endangerment.. that snake could eat the poor child

Amazing animals, indeed. The snake doesn't look real, it's such a light color. The tiger shots are terrific. I don't know how you managed to get such a sharp stop-action shot for the 2nd tiger with only f5 and 1/250 sec. Would using f8 have allowed you to focus beyond the fence so that you wouldn't see the fence at all?

Darn those fences. Great shots. I don't think I would let my little girl in with that snake. eeek!!

Excellent pics of the tiger. I like the leaping into the air one.
