I just finished my shoot for negative space, and I am very happy with the results. I have about 5 or six shots that I really like. One was my "concept" shot, the others just flowed from the shoot. Now I can't decide which to use.

I have two really great shots that everyone will instantly know are mine, and will be seen as "cliche". although I doubt there will be any like it.

And I have 3-4 different abstracts that I think many will love, but more will not. Uhg! Which poison do I choose? I sense another 4.5-5.5, but I at least I have a nice series of shots for the wall.

Any ideas?

Zeiss, I posted mine Tuesday or Wednesday; went for the abstract which was always my concept.

I think just about everything in the negative space challenge will be somewhat abstract... negative space, in itself, is abstract... :)

I wouldn't give advice on this issue on a bet !! It seems that when you choose the one YOU love, the voters go the other way, then when you choose the one you think the VOTERS would love, they still go the other way. ;-] I'm continuing to go with the ones that I love, and never mind what happens with the voting.

The shot I submitted last week was one I loved but it did badly in the candid challenge. This week I thought my shot was a little ho-hum but it's doing well.

There's no accounting for taste.

I finally decided. I polled a few people, and just pulled the trigger. I may have to put the others up on my web page and get comments.

My prediction is for another 4.5 to 5.0 score, and a few "too dark" comments.

I can't wait to see everybodies work. This will be an interesting challenge since "abstract work is not supposed to do well on this sight.

i loved this challenge, i have three very different shots, each of which i would be happy to submit. my brother and his girlfriend are in town from germany, they and my husband all picked the same one so that's what i went with. we'll see ... but i'll be able to blame them if the photo tanks ;) can't wait to get feedback on the out-takes, too... good luck everyone with the challenge!

I think mine will be too similar to share during the competition.

But, I can't wait to see what everyone else did.

I can't wait for the negative space challenge either......mostly because I usually prefer the abstract. Also, I think I'll get a lot of great ideas from this challenge.

What I wanted to do didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to and now I'm trying to decide which of my second sight photos to enter. Doubt I'll see the top 50 this week. LOL!!!

Good luck everyone.........

i've been stung a few times here -- entering the shot that I thought was my best, and having it be a little too far outside the mainstream to score well

this time i prepared 8 shots and bounced them off a friend --- she picked elements out of 2 of them, so i recropped one and entered it --- of course, the one she liked least was the one i wanted to enter in the first place (which i'll admit was the most abstract)

The one I like most out of my shots, is the one everyone I've asked likes least :) I'm still going to enter it though, because I like it, but I know it won't do very well.
