Yeah, Destin is beautiful with smaller crowds. That area that I mentioned however is crowded with not just people, but with tons of Dolphins too. I swam with them and took almost 300 shots of them when I was there.

As far a the hazy skies go, you have turn the negative into a positive. Try for the amazing sunsets that results with something of interest in the foreground. Also, If you wait for this evening, your ND filter might arrive.

Last time I went to Destin I saw dolphins playing on shore with the kids. :) It was darling but it was behind a resort and I couldn't get access. Today I may just see what is happening and get brave, or just ask if I can go take shots if they are there.

The people that are going with me aren't really wanting to go this evening and I'm not the best night driver. :) Besides, I predict a lot of sunsets in this challenge. I like to dare to be different. It will be interesting as I scower the beach for something very interesting. There is SO much activity there from sports to shells to drift wood, lonnnnnnnng wharfs, and on and on and on. I am sure to get something beautiful. :)

I'm off work today but the weather is against us. I was thinking of "Caves Beach" but on second thought I will stay on the Central Coast :)

So I went to the beach today. Spent three hours and took over 200 shots. Now I have about 30+ photos out of all of them to edit before I can choose between beach or lines. I got both!

The water must have been 90 degrees. It was like bath water. Not even cooling! lol. Had a MAJOR lightening storm just as we were getting ready to leave but as always here in Florida we get one around 3pm every afternoon so it passed before we hit the road and the beach.

Welp, I'm not complaining but I am just totally freeked over which to choose. Just to many good shots. I don't know whether to be amusing, serious, have kids, adults, no people, birds, sports, boats, things on the beach, and much much more. ARRRRR. I guess I better get editing. It's going to take me through to deadline to do them all. I guess this will be one challenge where I will choose the exclusive with the lesser entries. lol. That will help me narrow it down at least.

Yeah right - your are close to the front of the list around these parts that DON'T need a real long lens for that theme :-))

Do you think a shot will get slammed with DNMCs if it doesn't show any beach?

Is beach or shoreline a seemingly required element, or will it be OK if it is obviously something at the beach?

Expamples: Something shot while standing on the beach, but the beach isn't in the shot, something shot from a boat out on the open water, something shot out on water with no beach in sight, and so on.

Just trying get the pulse of the DNMC level on this one.

I have the same question as scarbrd. Is it a DNMC if the subject is entirely in the water and beach is not visible?

Well the description says Take a trip to the beach and make a photograph of something you find there. so to me anything that would be found on the beach does meet challenge. It does not say that you must photograph the beach....

Shall we dance on this one Cindi? I'm ready for ya!

(Note - cocky predicitons usually result in 5.0xx scores for me!)

I'll be ready for ya, David. Just threw on my bikini, loaded the boogie boards in the car and headed to the beach in a few mins :D

Take a trip to the beach and make a photograph of something you find there. For the purposes of this challenge, a "beach" is any strip of land bordering a body of water, be it ocean, lake, pond, or river.

Dockside, cliff, coast road...

Shhh...can you hear that?

That's the sound of a blue ribbon approaching Achoo's profile. Although it won't show up for over a week, it will have reserved itself a spot in less than 12 hours.

Enjoy the melody...
