That's the sound of a blue ribbon approaching Achoo's profile. Although it won't show up for over a week, it will have reserved itself a spot in less than 12 hours.

Enjoy the melody...

Nothing is more wrought with failure as anything preceded by "Watch this!"

;-)

So, Doc . . . as the deadline for the beach challenge draws nigh, I say to you . . . . Oh yeah? Watch THIS!

Wow, wonder what you put in with all those telescopes available.... hmmmm.

Methinks you'd like the Astrophotography gallery.

well, I entered mine last night. It could have been SOOOOOO much better, but it was foggy and low tide with grey light. Bleh.
Also, is it possible for me to be DQed if I didn't technically find what I was taking pictures of on the beach? Well, I guess I TECHNICALLY did. I brought it to the beach, lost it for about 3 minutes, and then found it...on the beach :D

You will not get DQed for that.

Yeah that's definitely fine as far as that goes but if it doesn't look like something that you'd find at the beach it probably won't get a good score.

I'm in. Not a very spectacular shot, but going to the beach is always fun and very nice with the warm weather we now have here.

Warm is an understatement around here! It is very hot all across the US. I need a holiday in Holland or Scandinavia!

I can remember the hot weather in the US from the time I was there on a holiday. When I think of how extremely warm it was out there... Well, we shouldn't complain here in Holland ;) But I'll join you to Scandinavia or Iceland. That last one sounds cold enough ;)

When I was out Sunday night it was still very warm out but there was a breeze so it wasn't too bad. The bugs were just terrible...

This was one of those challenges that I had quite a few good shots and it was difficult to decide which to enter. There was no spectacular shot in the bunch because I didn't notice something distracting in the background (need to work on that) and it killed them.

I go to Norway quite often on business. Hopefully there is a trip in the near future so I can get away from this heat.

I had quite a few shots like that. Not that I didn't notice, but I had worked up in my head it was an advanced editing challenge.

Last night I had to stop myself during editing when I too remembered that it was basic. But I should have realized it was there when I shot the pictures in the first place.

Well this evening I found a guy laying laying on top of a girl. Almost like that drink, "Sex-on-the-beach". I didn't ask to shoot that scene. The stuff I took to the beach and found, probably was boring compared to that. Then the waves washed my props away.

I'm in, with a kinda unusual find. I had trouble deciding what to enter because I had shots from three very different beaches all taken during the challenge time. Gotta love living on an island! :D

I live on a peninsula (South Florida) and I went from Miami on the east coast to Naples on the west coast and then back to Miami before I finally settled on my beach shot.

Alot of people have asked to see this image larger - It was my first post and I failed on the image size.
I am still having problems by the way in that when i do all the file save for web stuff it still keeps the same file size as the original???
Please help - I have followed the DCP tutorial but nothing changes.....I have been playing around some more and it seems my images even when i put 150k in the box change to 132k ??
Any way here is the bigger picture.
Cheers
JEff

jblaylockrayner,

don't think you should be posting yout entry here until after the voting has finished. It sort of smashes the annonimity just a tad.
