Sony 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 E-mount

Does anyone know the name of this bird?

it had red on it's head, the rest b&w.

It's a woodpecker... probaby a downy woodpecker. Possibly a red-headed woodpecker also...

After a little search on pbase, I believe you have a 'red-bellied' woodpecker...

Looks a bit big for a downy and the beak is a little long.

It's not the red bellied. It does look more like the downy.

It's a red-bellied woodpecker. I see them all the time in my yard. Downy and hairy woodpeckers don't have a pattern over their entire back like that.

If huge it could be a Pilated(?) Woodpecker.

the Pileated Woodpecker has a black back and a larger red crown.
This looks to be a red-bellied woodpecker as already suggested

No, there's no way that bird could be mistaken for a pileated woodpecker. They're very distinctive.
