I want to be a little proud of this shot...but thought maybe I should hold myself back and see what some of you thought of it first. Any comments critiques would be apprecitated!

Thanks guys! Those comments were very helpful. Here is the original version...

I am going to try the curves trick that was mentioned, and if I have time post a redo.

I know I love the shot, and while I know I shouldn't need the validation of others, it is nice to know I am on the right track with things. I feel that right now I am learning so much about photography, and trying to develope a sense of what I want my style to be...and constructive criticism is an essential part of that for me. Thanks to everyone who has commented!

I think the shot is great but I'm not a huge fan of the processing. As others have mentioned the whites are a little too bright. I had a little play around and tried to do a similar feel/style to your original edit so you can see some other options. Keep playing around with the original, I think you can get a really sweet shot from it.

Thanks so much for those edits! They look great, I would like just a touch more softness...could you tell me how you did them? I actually have another outake that is very similar to the color one you did...I will try and add it later today.

I mostly used layers in various blending modes, esp overlay and screen to get the brightness. Levels/curves adjustments, some color balance, and a little airbrushing. They could probably do with a little more softness but I find some 'soft' images just go too far and give it an out of focus look.
