What is the general consensus on borders in photos? I've just gone through the long, long process of weekly markings, and I found that a lot of this week's shots (for 'Colour') were spoiled by terrible choices of border colours or thicknesses. I'm not saying that all borders are bad; sometimes they add to the photo, but in general I'm not keen on them and several photos this week have lost marks from me on the strength of this criticism.
Does anyone else agree on this matter?

i think if the person chose to include them, then they should be considered as part of the total presentation. if they detract badly then that's the way the cookie crumbles. just my 2 cents....

I agree with mag... a border becomes part of the presentation and I usually include border choices in my scoring process...

Simple white or black border always adds to a photo. I can't stand bevels or disappating borders. Just a personal opinion.
