I just realized that while voting in the Glass challenge, I'll reach my 100,000th vote on DPC. I've been thinking about what I should do to commemorate this milestone.

I've always felt that voting for every image is the most important way I can learn from the site, and I have voted on every image in every challenge with only two exceptions since August 2002. One challenge I managed to miss accidentally somehow... and another time I was on a cruise for a full week and wasn't going to pay .50 a minute to cast the votes using the ship's connection for that length of time (i.e. I'm a cheap bastard :).

One thing I don't do enough of is comment, though. I try to comment on shots that move me one way or another, but I know I could do better there. Sooooo... for whatever shot turns out to be my 100,000th, I am going to write the most in-depth review I can possibly come up with. Hopefully that will be a fitting way of marking the occasion.

Which shot will it be?? I'm hoping it's a good one!

Nice job, Alan! That's a milestone to be proud of. I can't wait to read that 100K comment. :)

Congrats, Alan! That is impressive! May you not come across a rake or cheese on your 100k vote. (I hope it's a Woody). :)

Heh... well, I thought I'd be casting vote #100,000 within the hour, but my 7-year-old daughter just power puked all over the living room floor, so it looks like I'll be rather occupied for a bit. Bleech.

As crazzy as you all are on this site, you KNOW it'll be a woody!! ha
Congratulations! Don't forget when you write that "most in-depth review I can possibly come up with. Hopefully that will be a fitting way of marking the occasion" Make sure you include that this is your 100,000 vote, so we'll all know.
Thanks! I hope it's me!

Yeah, but unfortunately the motion blur challenge is over. In the interest of good taste, I won't mention the fact that we had Mexican for dinner. This is disgusting.

Very impressive. Congratulations.

And good luck with the puke. Ew. I accidently typed good lick with the puke. And now I don't want to even think about that..

This thread just took a very wrong turn........blech!

Yeah, talk about hijacking my own thread... yeesh.

I mean, she hasn't done this since she was literally two years old. And of all times to do it, she chooses 1:00 a.m. while my wife is asleep and I can't simply pretend that I have to be at an urgent meeting or something.

Being a guy, I'm making every humanly possible effort not to come into direct contact with anything gross, so I've already used an entire roll of paper towels on the project. Plus, for whatever odd reason, it seems that we have cans of Woolite strategically hidden throughout the house, but each can only contains a tiny little squirt of foam in it.

So I've been using the popular "Squirt - Wipe - Wash Hands - Scrub - Dab With Paper Towel - Find Another Can of Woolite" method of cleaning this up. Precisely how I wanted to spend this hour of the morning.

Uuh... those stats don't refresh until a new challenge begins. So add 99669 plus the two new challenges: 99669 + 259 + 97 = 100,025 :)

that is alot of pictures to look at!

That's well over 400 votes per challenge entered. I know you probably have voted on many challenges where you didn't have an entry but that's still incredibly high.

Sorry to hear about the puke... and sorrier that you couldn't escape the cleanup! :-P

Congrats on number 100k! Now that you've passed this auspicious milestone, take a well-deserved break from voting!
Sit back, rest on your laurels for say, 4 months or so ;-)

edit for typo :-P

You could get your tires rotated and oil changed! Then you would be good for another 100,000!!!
