The scores are up for the first two matches. Only seven dpc league teams gained a point - all with the same player. More points after today's matches as England are up.
It's not too late to join. |

Yes, well done. But I wonder about the wisdom of stacking your team with so many players from one country. At least you can make up to four transfers in a week. |

Wey hey! It's a tough one that's for sure! I lost 15 points from England not keeping a clean sheet against Sweden, what a disaster defense!

I'm in the middle of the pack, as usual. I would love a top-5 finish though. |

I'm in 5th right now. The Netherlands and England better move through or there won't be enough transfers to make up the team. ;o) |

No kidding.
If England get eliminated it will become harder and harder to make up any ground from the limited pool of players still available for play. Makes it tough to come up with creative point creating schemes too. |

Oh yeah. Thierry Henry finally came through in a big way for most people. I'd be higher in the standings if not for his magic feet. |

My main points came from Joe Cole and Steven Gerrard. Too bad my captain was benched for the game (Robben). |

Yeh Gerrard and Cole were a winning combination last week! I almost transferred Gerrard out as he was being rested for the game since he was on a Yellow card. Luckily I forgot! Hehe :)

After tomorrow's games we'll see where I stand. Both England and the Netherlands are playing (not each other, thank god).

Eriksson pulled a fast one by not letting Crouch play :(
Probably to make sure he didn't get another yellow card and make unavailable for the next match against Portugal. |

Well, Portugal vs Netherlands was more like a rugby match at times. Neither team played very well.

Still surprised that Spain lost to France. Looks like the French team finally woke up. They dominated the second half, although that second French goal was due to Thierry Henry's excellent acting on that "foul" on Puyol.
The matches are getting harder and harder to call. What are your predictions?

My predicitions are/were that Argentina will beat Germany, England will beat Portugal, Italy will beat the Ukraine and Brazil will beat France.
Then Brazil will go through along with Italy and Italy will win the whole thing.
If that happens, then I shall be $840 richer!!!!
Come on new lens!!!

Congratulations Ben. A lot of us had more or less the same teams in the last matches. I thought I was doing something clever by making Lehmann my captain for the last round - but he didn't play! |

Thanks :)
Yeh in the last few games there were only a few players left to pick from!
