Today is "Quebec Day" and tonight I tried for the first time to shoot fireworks. Any comment on how I can improve these are welcome!

Thanks

A few nice ones there. I especially like the ones where the smoke looks like feathers.

Happy St Jean Baptiste Day

You have some very good photographs in that group. Great captures.

Very Nice! Been a bit of overload between St. Jean Baptiste, World Cup, and Grand Prix!

I hope you are planning to go to the fireworks competitions to get some more great shots!

Thanks everyone. I'm personnally proud of them but since it was my first time shooting fireworks, I was afraid there was a major flaw in them and I didn't even know it.

I think they're wonderful. I am hoping to get some good ones on Canada Day...would you mind sharing your settings? Thanks.

I set up on a tripod. settings on the camera were:

lens: 50mm f/1.8 II
aperture between f/8.0 and f/16.0
shutter: between 1.3s and 2.5s
ISO: 100
mirror lock up and timer

my best shot yesterday was taken at f/16, 2s shutter speed.

I don't know if the 300d is like this but the rebel xt when set on timer AND mirror lock-up have only a 2 second timer. This is the best for me because when I see they launch a fireworks I push the shutter and 2 seconds are just enough time for the firework to explode and the shot is taken at the most beautiful moment.
