My camera has voice also, and has very good instructions in the booklet about how to use it. The 707 will record for 5 seconds if the shutter button is pressed and released, or will record for up to 40 seconds if you hold the shutter button down the entire time.

I think mics were added to many cameras mainly for sound when recording movies. Although I have read that many ppl find them useful for making annotations about the conditions the photo was taken under, etc... (I guess some might find this easier than taking notes.)

I've used it for making notes about a shot beyond the information recorded as EXIF data. I don't use it very often.
How were you thinking of using it at the reception?

It might be handy to add the names of people you don't know well, while you remember (or can ask) who they are... |

Ive used voice for just that generalE at a 21st and it was very helpful and it didnt seem to use much memory on my card. |
