If it's Internet Security Suite and you're using IE normally I think it has a seperate menu for Nortons just under the toolbar. If not I think you turn it on from view/toolbar menu. There may be an option under there about loading graphics, otherwise under the Tool/options menu I'm sure in there there is an option about loading graphics, but can't remember where it is! Sorry!

I posted a solution to this problem HERE.
See if that fixes your problem...

An even better solution would be to get rid of Norton because it sucks. You can use a combination of Spybot, Spyware Blaster, and AVG Free antivirus (all programs have a free license and free updates) and it will keep almost everything at bay. You should also use firefox instead of IE and add on the Adblock extension. I have a list of Adblock codes that blocks almost every single ad on the net; banner, pop up, java, everything. This makes pages load so much faster because they aren't jammed up with ads everywhere. Norton is terrible and in my opinion, a rip off.

Thanks for the replies;) It seems to be intermittent. I have been running Norton, Zone alarm and Spyware with no problems for years. Tonight I got a 'Worm' detected when I restarted the PC and logged onto DPC..then the problem started. Seems to have righted itself after a virus scan, but I will see how it goes...again thanks for the replies;)

I got to say this sounds very similar to the IMAGE SERVER ON THE BLINK thread I started. Again this morning there was a big issue with thumbnail and main image loading. As was there yesterday. My machine is clean here and there are no firewall or AV issues. The DPC server was very slow accessing from NYC this morning and the images have been spotty in serving. |

You should put that list in the learn/tutorial section if it's not already there;) |

I second getting rid of Norton and replacing it with AVG and either Spybot or Windows Defender.
Norton is a resource hog and often thinks webpages are viruses (especially fancy AJAX pages). AVG is free, and has been working well for me for years. |

I don't think AVG is free anymore.

I'm running AVG right now. I just switched from Avast just for a lark about three months ago.
Avast! also works quite well and is also free...
Definitely ditch Norton. It's a useless resource hog... lets stuff in too, while freaking out at nothing at all...
Any word on Zone Alarm? I thought I read somewhere that this was also a bit of a peice of crapware? Can't recall though and it's been around 3 months since I did any reading on the subject. AVG seems pretty rock solid. |
