Now that we can get all the high-quality prints we want from DPCPrints, any recommendations for frames? I had one of two of my prints framed as gifts and each one cost $55.00 to frame an 8 x 10 (the first one I chose was $160)! My company wants to buy some of my prints and I don't want them to change their minds when they see the cost of framing. Long story short, has anybody tried this company ?Frames by mailOr do you have other recommendations.

I do all my business with Aaron Brothers, very reasonable prices. They might have a store near you (I think it's a chain/franchise). The one I frequent is on South Hill, Puyallup. Phone 253-864-9846. No, I don't work for them...... |

Thanks! I thought about coming to your neighborhood this weekend anyway to see if I can photograph Mt. Rainier! If they don't have a shop up my way, I'll check it out.

Not for a few more years, I hope...
Seriously, I don't know the area at all, is that where I should go? |

If you are willing to frame and mat your shots by yourself, you can do it for 1/4 the price. I have succesfully matted and framed a few of my shots with spray adhesive, not sure about the longevity compared to heat pressing, but they have lasted years with no slipping or color change. |

I'm cheap. So when I saw the frames onsale at a local Walgreens the other day, I stopped in to check them out. I almost walked out with 2 8.99 8x10 frames that were onsale for about 6 bucks. But then I noticed some frames that were even nicer than the ones I had in my hands for the everyday low price of 2.00. Yep, 2 bucks. The frames are all wood, and come with glass, not plastic.
Very nice. |

I'm partial to gallery style frames (clips hold a backing and glass together). You can get these for under $10 each (that's the really big ones) and buy a pre-cut mat for about $4. I get mine at Michaels (the big craft store). They'll do the matting and framing there too, but jeez they wanted $14 for custom cut mat for an 8x10.
Hope that helps.
Shari
(If anyone wants, I'll take a pic of these frames in use and post it...I don't like mats, so mine are just the photos in the frames...i know it's not good for the glass or the photo, but oh well)

My local second-hand store almost has a few frames for $1-3. |
