I want a remote for my XT. Should I get the RC-1 or RC-5? I can't find info that really explains the differance.
BTW my 50mm f1.8II is being delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to play with it!!!

RC-1

Can be instant or a 2 sec delay.

RC-5

Is only a 2 sec. delay.

I have the RC-5 for my XT and was thinking of selling it to get a remote for the 30D but at $20 I will just keep it.

Edit to add: I need a remote for my 30D.

I just got the RC-1 and like it. I chose it because of the option to choose between instant and 2-sec delay clicks. Plus I think it's smaller and easier to operate (more dummy proof - comes with a little holder). ;-)

I think the RC-1 instant/2 second delay option is the way to go also.
Thanks for the quick response!!
All the people here @DPC seem to be really nice and very willing to help. I've learned so much just by reading these forums. THANKS!!!

Love my RC-1. If my camera is on a tripod, the RC-1 is in my hand.

Heh, well, my recommendation is the TC-80N3 timer remote. It's got much more functionality than a plain remote trigger, and is well worth the price they ask.

Does the TC-80N3 work with the 350D?

Nope. The 350D (and 300D) use a completely different remote. They are not compatible.

Is there a reasonably priced remote that works with the Canon 20d? I've been looking, but haven't found one.

20D

thanks for the quick link. Have you ever seen anything wireless, though?

I use the ADIDT remote that is made here in Taiwan. I believe it is available in America at the very least via the internet...

It's well worth it....

It comes with a wired remote AND a wireless remote...

The wireless is not infra-red, it is actually low band FM or something, so you can use it without line of sight...

The wired remote has 3 settings. One for wireless, one for normal wired function and one for bulb. Battery life is excellent...

The build quality of the wireless remote is highly questionable, but a little common sense will prevent tearing it apart by accident. I've not had any troubles with it yet...

Worth it's weight in GOLD IMHO. Not to expensive either.

It only works with the 20D/30D though, not with the Rebel...

So where can I get one? I've decided I NEEEED a wireless remote!
