Headed to the Moon River area shortly. Will be purchasing "beverages" at I believe an LCBO. What are case prices? Are major american domestics carried? I've heard rumored $30-40 per case. Is there any other option other than the LCBO?
Thanks,

Look for The Beer Store. Yes, that's what it's called!
Yes major American domestics (bud, coors, etc.) are carried, but Canadian beer is better :P
Case prices vary depending on if it's domestic (canadian), local (Ontarian), or imported. I don't know what prices are right now, but I know in Quebec you can get 24 for under 22 dollars on sale

| Even the American brands are probably brewed in Canada and probably better than those brewed in the states. Less water taste. ;o) |

never would i put bud and coors into any kind of comparison to good beer.
It's only a step above natty, beast, and pbr which you can get for $12/30 pack when it's not on sale. |

Like Pidge says, you want to find The Beer Store.
If you're not sure what to get, talk to one of the folks at the counter & tell them you're from the States. They'll probably make fun of you for a while, but when they're done they'll help you pick something to your liking.
Don't be cheap. In Canada beer is different than it is in the States, & meant to be enjoyed! I cannot drink beer in the States at all, as it gives me such a horrible stomache ache & hangover, while Canadian beer does not. So, no worries to you about quantity. Have fun!

| other thing to remember is Beer/Liquor prices are goverment controlled - if you want inexpensive, look for stuff on sale -- but the delta will generally be less than 5% |

I've had Yeungling at my brother's place, as well as MANY other microbrews. My brother likes beer too. Unfortunately for him, he still lives in the U.S.
Whenever I'm going down to visit, I bring a couple of cases of beer, as he's also come to the conclusion that there's just no American beer that can hold a candle to beer brewed in Canada, I'm sorry to say. :-(

Just to play devil's advocate, it appears that 7 of the top 10 beers at ratebeers.com are brewed in the US of A. Oh, and none from Canada, sorry to say :-(

If you're talking about those horrid concoctions made by Budweiser, Coors, Miller etc. that bear only a passing resemblance to beer, then, yeah, American beer sucks.
But, there are so many other brews made in the US that are just damn good. Canadian Beers too. Mexican Beers. English, Irish, Scottish brews too. Dutch and German beers too, of course.
Come to think about it, there aren't too many civilized countries that don't have good beer. Though I have to say, I don't care much for that Chinese beer, Tsing Tao or whatever it was called.
Anyway, relax, crack open a beer.
