Congrats! And keep an extra pair of underwear closeby when you hold it for the first time. |

| Nice I think I'm going to get the 70-200 f/4L in the near future. |

I have that one. To be honest, I hardly ever use it. It's too heavey for me. (I'm a wuss). It takes GREAT picftures though. Hey, maybe if I actually used it, instead of just lugging it around, I might score a bit better... Hmmm... have to think about that one..
Seriously - congrats on the new purshase, and enjoy!! |

| Congratulations with your new lens. The worst thing about good lenses like that one is that all the other lenses you try are much poorer than they. I'm thinking about buying a Nikon 70-200 when I've gotten 3 ribbons or honorable mention. |

Just trying out my new lens, this is my (ironically) camera-shy girlfriend and her 6 month old niece. Warm window light from one side (west-facing window) and cool window light from the the north side. Shot at F2.8, ISO 800, minimally processed.

thanks for the advice, came in very handy. I also made sure not to be sitting on any nice furniture while I unpackaged my lens.

Nice shots. The 4th one really tells the story of the 70-200mm 2.8, the contrast, bokeh, color....there is no substitute.
Have fun. |

Very true. I bought the 50mm 1.4 and after that the kitlens was not much fun and certainly not the Sigma.
Now I have sold the kitlense and got a Nikon 24-85mm 2.8-4. The Sigma is for sale and I think I'll save up for the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR DG IF-ED
Congrats on your new lens!
