What´s the problem with people not understanding the title if it isn´t 100% litteral?
Really frustrating, I've had several comments already from people that just don't get it. |

Your only consolation is that they might be making fools of themselves - unless, of course, you're making one of yourself. All part of the merry game, though :-) |

It's much better/easier to admit to being a fool. Someone comes along and says, "You fool!" and I say proudly, "Of course!"

Some poeple just don't understand titles if they aren't as obvious as one would hope for. Pesonally I enjoy searching for those meanings hidden in pictures tipped off by a clever title! Don't worry about those illiterates that think nothing of reading between the lines or subscript. |

I always have to laugh at the titles that contain a bracketed discription to make the photograph more easier to understand.
No holds barred - (This is my daughter holding a bar of chocolate with her foot, she is 5 years old, her name is Emily)

Yep those and the ones with the processing information and/or shooting info:
Red Moon at Night(30 minute exposure at f/ 16, straight from camera resize only!!)

I'm often tempted to do that myself, I've so frequently been slammed for "overprocessing" that isn't...

Accusations that might be attibutable to the fact that most folks simply do not get up at the crack of dawn as you do, to garner those awesome sunrises you manage to capture my friend... or take the time to look around them and truly appreciate all of nature's beauty.

| Guess I'd rather be a fool for being misunderstood than for having such a title ;) |

99 % of all people suck.
The other 1 %, though, makes it all worthwhile.

Litteral [sic] ??? as in deriving from a litter......or perhaps Littoral...as in situated near a sea shore.
You state that you have had several comments from people that just don't get it... which gives rise to the question... have you had any messages from ANYONE who got it??? ... therein lies the true test.

Ray | Literal. English isn't my native language. Excuse me for being born in a lesser country :p
And on the second point, I had people replying to say they like the concept. So I guess the opinions vary. |

Start posting entries with sarcastic meta-commentaries, e.g.:
Gosh (taken with a camera, pointed at the stuff you see in the picture) |

My apologies... but as you can see, language can be rather tricky at times.

No offence taken. I bet 90% of the people here are native speakers. |

Just a little bump
Looking back, I really have the feeling my rating is low mainly because people just didn't get it.

I think it is better that instead of wanting to take from everyone, you give a little too.
Since you have asked for their high votes, high praise and now a review of all those things - don't you think a few Photographer's Comments to explain the picture and what you were trying to convey might help people understand you so you can understand them?
It's not a one-way street and having studied the pic and read the comments, I stil don't get the title. Perhaps since so many people didn get it, it annoyed them and you lost votes by that. If it didn't loose you any points, it certainly didn't gain you any. There's not a lot wrong with 5.77 anyway, that is not a "low" score. Lesson learned I would think.

I think you got me all wrong, but you confirm what I already thought. |
