My friend is looking for PS elements 2.0 and I thought they had a free download somewhere since it is so old. Is this true? I'm not talking about the starter version. She wants the complete software.

Thank you.

I don't think it can be downloaded for free. But, can be often found free with hardware :-) So, it's often cheaper to buy a piece of equipment than to buy elements itself.

Another option is the Gimp for Windows.

Or if you ask around here, you might find somebody with an old copy that they're willing to donate.

You might also find it at one of the "free plus shipping" software sites -- they often buy up old/discontinued software.

Adobe does not give away old versions for free, especially since having one usually gives you a discounted upgrade path to current versions. They also usually do not have limited versions (anymore) -- demos are usually full-featured but time-limited.

Wacom tablets and scanners often come bundled with Elements. A tablet is good for anyone who does any retouching, masking, dodging/burning, or "painting" in PS or PSE.

Quean,

I recently bought PS Elements 2 on Ebay for $16, no manual just the software on disc (but Help function is excellent). Great program, great price, great buy. Just got a book on the program from Amazon.com for $5 (including shipping).
