Rooms have admins, and they can mute people's mics (AND/or the typing)or even bounce troublemakers out of the room.

Paltalk has oodles of members. I go there for the trivia games and the music rooms, but they have rooms on all sorts of subjects, plus you can start your own permanent room, or just open a quick one for a private chat.

For us, it is also a nice solution for chatting with my parents in Australia. Each on our own computer, it is often me, hubby, our daughters - and my parents on the other side of the world, all in the same room, hearing each others voice (also optional web cam).

I am very sure you'd all love it if you gave it a chance.

The problem with PalTalk is that you have to download a Windows-only program to use it (versus just a normal webbrowser for the DPCF chat). That means people at work (especially those behind firewalls) probably can't use it, nor can people on Macs (or Linux etc), which kinda limits the users...

/me is just kidding and loves Jacko oodles and bunches, even when she has to reload chat 14 times in a conversation so she doesn't get into trouble at work. :)
