Adapter
Why must Canon users always try and knock Nikon down? |

Because the 10.5 is a hell of a lens, that's why :p
EDIT: That was more a reply to ShutterPug's post than the other ones

Yeah...ebay the 20D and get yourself a good camera. Once you buy the Nikon, you can put all the Nikon lenses on it that you want.

I think you may only be able to use the Nikkor 10.5mm at the the widest apeture on your Canon body. The lens does not have a manual aperture ring. If you want a deep depth of field, you may have to look for an alternative lens. |

It's quirky, but the 8mm Peleng is a great option for Canon shooters, and relativly inexpensive. It's also the world's only 8mm macro lens*
* With a bit of inginuity, that is! |

I have it, but its softer than the Nikon, and just a little too wide. Seems like 10.5mm would be perfect.... CANON ARE YOU LISTENING?!?!

I would be surprised if Canon didn't eventually fill out that hole in the lineup. They seem comitted to continued eevelopment for APS-C DSLRs, and a full-frame fisheye for 1.6-crop is something they should offer. |

I made mine focus close by loosening the mount ring and tightening it back with it not pushed all the way back. How did you do it?

Do you mean an adapter to fit a Canon lens on a Nikon body?
I think it's physically impossible. The reason why Nikkor lenses can be adapted to a Canon body is because Nikon designed their cameras with a smaller film plane to lens distance than Canon has. Nikkor lenses focus light at a longer distance and have the extra clearance for an adapter to fit between the lens and a Canon body.
If you tried put a Canon lens on a Nikon body, the Canon lens would have to be closer to the film plane than a Nikon lens. This means that the rear element of the Canon lens would have to be positioned "deeper" into the Nikon body. This would be impossible to do.
If I got something wrong here, someone please correct me.

If you had a Nikon film camera that would mount to it, I think you could stop it down in the camera, hold the DOF preview button and remove the lens with the button still held down. Bit of a pain though. |

My 18-55 stayed stopped down until it clicked back into the mount when I tried it - I'm guessing since the lens/adapter combo doesn't couple with the body, it might stay stopped down even on the adapter. Although if you get one with autofocus it probably would go back to wide open to let it focus, wouldn't it... meh |
