I hope you all have a very Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I was awakened with breakfast in bed of bagels with cream cheese and coffee by my two wonderful girls. I plan on watching a girlie movie with just us girls later this evening and maybe a picnic if the rain ever stops. If not we will just have to have a carpet picnic instead!

edit to add: please share what your plans for the day will be

I received a 2 foot tall card and some tulips. I still had to cook breakfast. Now I get to go walk around an amusement park all day and watch my darling 6 year old ride on kiddie rides. Happy Mother's Day!

Yukkk... don't you just hate that? Mother's day (or father's day, for that matter) becoming KID's day, and there's nothing youc an do about it but wait for them to grow older?

I'll type out a poem here for all the moms of the site, gimme a few...

I got three homemade cards from my boys, along with a basket of Bath & Body Works goodies. Then I got to sort and start the laundry, vaccuum, and change all the bed linens. I also made breakfast. It doesn't matter though, because I'm just thankful I have beds to make, floors to vaccuum, clothes to wash, and healthy kids to drive me nuts. :)

Child of the season of adventure, child of the heart,
running forever in the landscape of happiness,
that long autumn strangely free of frost
where stars hang low like the ripe fruits they are
and the wild geese gather slowly
(one waits over the house still, with rich wings)
in the fires of the late sun:
there is no child like you in that country
where the third litters of wild animals
start to show small, golden faces ΓΆ€”
chipmunk-mask no larger than a fingertip,
rabbit small enough to spend the whole
winter of youth in the earth, a press
of tiny snakes guarded by something lying
like a stick across the path, except for the markings.

In all that country, you are the only one
laughing and calling with human voice along the road;
you are the only one
with intricate hands to tear old vines apart
and fearless feet to tread them, the only one
with a small caress to bring smiles,
to bring milk into an abandoned breast,
and into the cave of the breast a bright thing faraway won
that grows and grows
like the wild bird over the house or low stars
or the earth-warmed litter in its hole.

Child, poem and poet, you are most golden:
you are the most golden of all!

Happy Mother's Day to all moms! Bears love you all!

*shakes self* Oh yeah, we're supposed to post our Mother's Day. I kinda lost track of my thoughts after Bear's poem! :)

Well, it's noon, hubby's fishing, two of the three kids are at work, I think the third is probably cocooned in the basement. After hubby gets home I'm going to drag him with me to take my mother to Beacon Hill park or the beach or something, then probably grab deli food or some sort of takeout to bring home for a picnic supper. By then the kids will be home and we can all give Grandma her gift.
Not too exciting, but at least the weather is wonderful, and I do still have a mother. May not be able to say that for too many more years, since she's 87.

I got to sleep in. Then I found a hand painted flower pot with flowers in it (from my 11 yr. old) and a card from my husband. I got some earrings and a touching note from my older daughter. My daughter just finshed making me lunch (complete with menu and full service) and my two girls are spending the afternoon watching the Reds game on TV with me.

A candle and got to order my new MacPro 17" Laptop last night from hubby!!! My 4 kids are taking me out to dinner at Carrabbas. One daughter gave me a sensor cleaning kit, balloon and beautiful lillies, youngest picked out a really sweet card with some hand made gifts, son just signed the card (cuz he's 16 and too cool ;) but I know he loves me) and still waiting on my other daughter's gift .. she's on her way here now. All in all it has been a lovely day (despite the rain).

I got a card and a hand grown marigold from my son (he's 7). I got a framed piece of artwork from my daughter (she's 4. It has a sweet poem and her hand prints. She made it at school) Then this morning I got bagels with cream cheese and a ginger ale in bed from my husband. I also got to smoke one cig in bed (we have lived here 2 years and we haven't smoked in the house since we painted the house 2 years ago! We always smoke outside)

That's it. Other than that I got to be lazy all day... except for making dinner. :)

Happy mother's day to you all!

I got a carnation from Ellie, a kiss and hug from James (and they let me sleep in), a card from Melissa with her punk rock picture and a picture of when she was 3 weeks old, a hand painted pot with a lavendar scented pouch in it, time alone with Ellie after her soccer game where we cruised the mall and talked, time alone with Melissa where we played some computer games and talked. Ellie thought it would have been my worst Mother's day but it was just fine by me, I have three beautiful children, a loving husband and some wonderful friends.

Took my mommy to Beacon Hill park, took lotsa pics, especially of the heronry, then here for dinner. We bought her a fancy birdbath and before we gave it to her she showed me an ad of a birdbath she was going to buy herself. So that worked well!

My daughter (and best friend) bought me a slave flash... yayyy!!

Woke up with the kids as well as put them to bed-
No cards :o(
No flowers :o(
A day at the beach...sunburn...
A nice homemade dinner-
I had to clean up the dishes.

All this because and husband knows Mother's Day means a lot to me.

He is on my sh*t list right now.
