I wish that were true. :-( I'm still below 6, so unless I have a huge landslide of high votes in the next couple days, Que Sera Sera. I don't have my portrait entry in yet, I'm supposed to shoot it today. Good luck!

Next time I'm going to shoot a cute and cuddly puppy
running happily through a dreamy field of daisies.

ARRRGGGHHH

Yeah, that would be an exciting movie eh?

It never ceases to amaze me how radically different
the scores can be on the same shot.

I know I'll end up with a perfect bell curve after the challenge is over, but when I'm in the midst of getting the 2-5 scores, it's hard to keep that in mind.

Assuming you're telling the truth (and I'm told you can be Nasti about that) you should be in good shape. I'm in the low 6's, probably finish around 6.2. Just my luck :-(

Well, I'm not used to a 6 lowering my score and its starting to get to me so much that I've stopped hitting the update buton (so often). Am still between a rock and a hard place (this will be my second highest pic).

Am still thinking about environmental portraits, my initial idea was a little wacky but I may still shoot it, unfortunately I can't shoot my second idea at the weekend (it was cool). On the way home tonight I had another idea and whilst not in your face or overly interesting would be my first 'planned' shot of someone I don't know - scary!

All I can say is this is above my average
:)

Should be interesting! ;)

Well, it's a really good thing my shot is tanking, 5.69 right now. Today was my only day to shoot the environmental portrait and I got stood up! I'm leaving in the early morning to Yosemite for four days, so I can't do it over the weekend. Spyder... here's an early congratulations, and good luck in the next round to all the winners.

Alright Sir Bazz, so I have an environmental portrait but I'm really not diggin' on it too much..... Do I really need to bother submitting? Just how much higher than your average are ya, huh? :)

I'm hoping you're doing great, 'cause I don't think my other photo's gonna do me much good in the next challenge. Can you put me out of my misery or do I have to come up with something amazing tomorrow (yeah right!)? :-)

OK Jen but only 'cos I like you :)

I suspect your doing pretty well with your entry but I'll have a new pic in my top 5 after this challenge.

I haven't shot anything for round 2 yet but I'll try to come up with something tonight.

Phew ... well, at least the pressures off to come up with an outstanding Env. Portrait then. :)

I'll just say Congrats now because the chances of my score making it to that level by tonight are pretty slim. That is unless everyone comes to their senses and gives my photo the 10 it deserves!! :-) (I am soooooo kidding of course, just in case the sarcasm was missed here) LOL!!

Last nights environmental portrait shoot didn't come off so am nipping out to try plan b every time the rain stops! (its a sure <5.5 though). The dpc cinema entry is falling with every vote, 0.07 so far since last night (I can't believe I'm back to watching 1/100's of a point lol).

Where are you Laurus?

I badly sprained my foot on Friday making it virtually impossible to stand up, which is bad enough. What is worse is that I had not taken an Environmental Portrait.
As Yanko and I look close I needed to enter something just in case.

So this morning I persuaded her in doors to drive me a few miles to where I could shoot some images. Then standing on one for I fired off about 20 shots. I was in a lot of pain so just pointed the camera and just shot away, =grumpy as hell.

I have just sat down to edit them, and realised that I had the camera set at ISO 800, so the few composition that I was OK with, were ruined because of grain. So I chose a less pleasing composition, which atcleast looks less grainy.

To make it worse I have just dropped my lap top on my foot, so I am totally P̢۪d Off with myself, and need some TLC.

So please can we have something that I can take indoors next week, as travel is a bit hard at the moment, unless I hop to it.

Now that's dedication! I hope you're feeling better very soon Artan and I'm sure whatever you came up with for Environmental portrait will be great. Now just sit and rest that foot, would you? :-)

Well, from another thread it looks like I'm beat (though not suprising). Am off to bed shortly with a 6.7413, my second highest result and will gladly boost my 5.5 average - sometimes losing can be good ;)

At least the rest of the world can see your real Nasty-ness. And I have to suffer it everyday!

The League of Death can be a cruel mistress at times. We present her with a 6.7 offering and she chews it up and spits it onto the heap of refuse with other shots which were dead pixels walking...

It certainly was *sniff*
Mind you, it was the doc that 'made' me go out and take my Environmental portrait shot - I quite like it now even if I don't get to use it in the LoD.

Oh, will I be the highest scoring first round loser? that must be worth something?
