That isn't what the challenge description stated....but that's discussed in another thread already, too.

Edit to add link to Picky?

ahem... I don't think "strong" is the right word... ;)

and OP, I think your picture is great, one of the best. too bad about the text.

I was so stupid, I didn't read the rules and added text to the image to make it look like a movie poster. I got dq'd but I wonder if it was good enough. I kind of like it and I think it was much better than my past entries in other challenges. Any comment will be appreciated.

I'm really sorry to hear that you got a DQ. When I saw your photo I already knew it was going to get a DQ for the text. It's a pity, because it was one of the best movieposters I've seen in this challenge.

Sounds like "outtake" talk to me... ;^)

What makes you think that?

Thanks for the feedback Arti-Elvi, can't wait to see yours, I haven't voted yet but I really like your style, I'm sure you'll do very well. Tali

Don't let the DQ get you down. You're doing really good work (especially including the entry in question). :-)

You're welcome.

Thanks! I agree with SjCarter by the way.

I already voted before this thread was posted, so it's all good. 10's for everyone (except for a few).
05/09/2006 07:08:06 PM · #43
That sucks. I had this one pegged as a favorite in the challenge. The text I ignored completely and just voting on the photo since thats all the challenge was about.
05/09/2006 07:17:39 PM · #44
For what it is worth. I started voting on this challenge like 4 hours after it opened and I recommended your image for DQ. I liked it and thought it was great. Just the text was against the rules.

do we need some clarification as to the meaning of 'out take?' For me (as was mentioned earlier) it means a shot from a series of themed photographs that could identify a submission? A thread asking 'how would this have worked' may not be an 'out take' from that fotog but may resemble somebody elses shot?

And, if people are saying when there is (say) a portrait challenge in process that I can't post a request for input on a picture of my Dad, or, (god forbid) stop all image discussion during an open challenge!

oh that does suck. :( i really liked that photo.

p.s. to me this thread has nothing to do with an outtake thread...but then again they have never bothered me anyway, so i don't think you did anything wrong. :) just my very small humble opinion. /end hijack

Mk is now the proud owner of one slightly tarnished soul....
Thank you, mk, your generosity astounds me..... :D
