Here is a preview of WPL Season 2 Schedule.

I have numbered the teams 1-10 in the Draft League and 11-20 in the Set Team League. The numbers will be replaced with the team names when formed.

Getting ready for season 2 which should start July 2, 2006

Draft League:
1. I need 10 Captains. If you want to be a captain of a team please PM me and let me know what team # (1-10) you want your team placed. NOTE: Look at the bye-weeks and order of play. That could be a good advantage to teams.. I will update by the time of the PM.

2. I need all photographers that want to be in the draft league to PM me letting me know so I can start putting the name in. I need you to send me your Username, Overall Average, # of ribbons won, and # of top 10 finishes.

Set League:
I need you to send me your COMPLETE team. That includes team name and team members with a link to each photographer. Once you have your team complete (all 7 photographers) PM me and let me know what number (11-20) you want your team placed. NOTE: Look at the bye-weeks and order of play. That could be a good advantage to teams.

But dammit we have that "Proud Member..." sig! :P I like our team and wouldn't mind staying together since we certainly don't tilt the balance of power in the league however, I have advocated for the draft format so I'll have to stick with that and say break up? But if the rest of the guys want to stay together I'm cool with that also.

We have one more week left in the regular season and two weeks of playoffs in WPL-1. That would put the end of season one around the end of May / first of June. I wanted to give everyone a little break before we started Season 2.

I hope no one minds.

Us staying together or breaking up does nothing to change the talent imbalance in the league. Besides, I already opted to break up to be consistent.

Btw, shouldn't you be concentrating on finding a way to pull Team Pentax from the jaws of defeat? Might I suggest praying? :P

Here is how it̢۪s going to work.

If you want to participate in the Draft League you need to PM me with your information as follows:
1. League: Draft
2. Username: Your username
3. Average: Your Overall DPC average
4. Ribbons: How many ribbons you have won
5. Top 10: How many times you have been in the top 10 (Less ribbons).

If you want to participate in the Set Team League you need to PM me with your Teams information:
1. League: Set Team
2. Team Name: Your Teams Name
3. Captain: Your Teams Captain̢۪s username
4. Photographers: All your photographers̢۪ information.
· Username: Each photographers username
· Average: Each photographers Overall DPC average
· NOTE: If you do not have a complete team that is ok. You can complete your team with all seven players at a latter time.

NOTE: NO PHOTOGRAPHER IN THE DRAFT POOL IS ALLOWED TO DROP OUT OF THE POOL AND JOIN A SET TEAM. A SET TEAM CANNOT RECRUIT A DRAFT POOL PHOTOGRAPHER UNLESS HE/SHE IS NOT DRAFTED AT THE END OF THE DRAFT.

Damn, that's a tough spot you've put us in. Suppose Team Outcasts decides to stay more-or-less intact but is shy 3 members that either don't want to play anymore or who have gone into the draft? Then where the heck do we draw our remaining three members from?

Also, among the draft teams, how are we determining who's the captain? I mean, SOMEONE has to make the first pick?

I don't understand. Once the draft pool is filled anybody else would be available to the Set Teams. Btw, I'm sure Team Outcasts can come to an agreement one way or the other. If everyone else wants to stick together I'll stay or vice versa should you have me. :) Seriously, I don't see a problem with adding replacements after the Draft league has it's players. We are not talking about a lot of players just some replacements to fill the ones not returning.

You could also be building your set teams now before people have had a chance to decide to go into the draft.

We will not have the draft until around June. If the person you want is not on the draft list then you can recruit them. But if they are you can't. Would it be fair for the draft teams waiting for the draft to start see a player recruited off the list before they had a chance to pick them.

After the draft is over the photographer remaining in the pool then can be drafted by a set team. The Set Team League was set up to stay out of the pool. They wanted to keep their teams intact. Which to some will be an advantage. For that advantage there are sacrifices to be made.

I would suggest getting with your team and see who is going to stay and start recruiting before the draft. Until a photographers name is on the draft pool list then you can recruit him/her. I don't see having the draft pool up for another two weeks. That should give 'set teams' time to get there team members in order.

Early Results: Team PENTAX vs Team OUTCASTS

As of close of voting on Free Study and Photojournalism, Team OUTCASTS and Team PENTAX have asch "qualified" exactly 4 scores (4 of 7 have contributed images thus far for each team) and OUTCASTS is leading PENTAX by the slimmest of margins: 6.1435 vs 6.112. Is an upset in the making? Tune in Tuesday and see how the open challenge results shake out :-)

Just wait till Tuesday. We're going to pull one of those Elway like come from behind victories!

For those that don't know, Elway was QB for the Denver Broncos. Won a couple of Super Bowls, in the Hall of Fame, and basically a legend here in Denver.
