Thank you so much Xianart for causing me to hate all my pictures forever. I saw your post, went, hmm, I've heard of this Gothic Glow thing, wonder if I can figure out how to install it, and bingo, I'm addicted. I'll get tired of it and get over it eventually, no doubt, but for now I'm really dismayed at how boring the original looks once I've run that action.
for example:
day 29 portrait before GG (I loved this picture until, oh, fifteen minutes ago):
Aaaand after:
It's all your fault, xianart. :-P ;)

Today's entry...I was trying to go for that 1940's glamour look, but I think I missed the mark. I can't get much of a result up here at work with just PS Elements 2.0 and a crappy LCD monitor. I might rework it at home tonight.

this might be a dumb question but couldn't you get the same effect with a colored layer added and not loose the sharpness that you have in the orignal? |

The softness is all part of the "glow" effect.

I've been SO busy lately! I managed to get my daily pics, but editing and posting is another story. Will have some up tonight.
I have been a little worried about someone seeing some of my pics and thinking finding out I'm a little whacked. Well it happened yesterday - I was showing one of the developers that works for me something on my computer and when I pulled up photoshop, this pic was still up from when I was editing:
Of all the pics he may have stumbled on, it just had to be that one! Didn't really have time to explain and I don't think it would make a difference anyway. :/
