You need to vote on at least 20% of the entries in a challenge for your vote to count.

Who says flowers are boring..lol

Flowers can be a very boring subject if you attack it in a very straightfoward manner. My rule of thumb for flower pics is that if it looks like it belongs on a seed packet from Home Depot, then it's not terribly interesting. I started a "Flowers don't have to be boring" thread a couple days ago that has about a zillion fantastic examples of non-boring flower pics. ;-)

Oh, I'm in the 'more flowers, more flowers!' category... Not that it's necessary to fit a flower into every Challenge, but if it works, go for it. I agree though, make it an original flower shot:
..stuck a point n shoot in this guy's face to see what would happen.
.. from the car on a narrow road, zoomed in with a 500mm lens and caught this trio.
.. my second highest score to date and I didn't even fall in
..oh, the shame of it. I destroyed a daisy!

Whos box? Mine or yours?

I don't normally take pictures of flowers. I've thought of going on a flower extravaganza simply because it would be going outside my box.

exactly! Just cause your bored with seeing them doesn't mean the photographer isn't trying something he/she never did or even trying to do something creative. Yes you may be bored with flowers but can you think outside your box and vote on the photographers technical skills and NOT the subject. I could say the same about all the people shooting wine glasses or water drops or kids...doesn't mean they aren't trying something new to them.

Hope everyone doesn't feel that way about the up coming Enviromental Portrait cause I can see that happening...and he(edit to say that I have no idea what I was trying to say right here oops, maybe I meant to say...after all it is spring, etc..) it is spring and summer in a lot of the world.

i agree, and here is an example i made with out even expecting it to come out that way using this image. call it what you want but in my opinion, this is why photography is an art regardless if it's flowers.
