Oh no!!! Oh well, maybe we can try another one in the fall and try another location to try to get the fall colors.

(but on the plus side my wife is planning for us and her family to go down there over mother's day weekend)
My wife (in Georgetown) mentioned that it is probably best as the weather looks a little like rain this weekend...of course depending on who you watch or look at.
from NOAA.GOV weather site
from weather.com
from KY weather forecast
All seem to say 30% chance of rain in Stanton area on Saturday. Of course with the coverage the trees give on the hike it might be fine.
Have fun all and be safe. |

Phillip,
I think we decided to meet at the Skylift parking lot. Wear hiking shoes/boots everyone.

Shhhhhhh! Don't say the "R" word. I don't think we made any plans if that were to happen. But do you have a suggestion for alternate plans?

Well, the way the rain around here can be sometimes it could rain in the morning and be a beautiful rest of the day or vise versa maybe we could play it by ear somehow if its raining |

Okay, I have a possible issue. I planned this GTG before prom season hit. I have booked a prom session in Central Park at 5:00 on Saturday. To give myself time to get back and unload cards, etc. Now, I have been called by a mom whose daughter is also going to the prom and wants pics but really can't do it after my other appt because they have to get there for the grand march. I have no idea how long it will take me to get back but do you all think we will be hanging out and shooting much beyond noon or oneish(is that even a word)? I really kind of want to do this as there may be more than the one couple and its a different location with the ohio river as a backdrop. But I don't want to miss the gtg, I will not miss it. How long do gtg's usually last? I need to learn to say no. I know, but man this would be great for seniors next year.

Get them to come to natural bridge and get the bridge as a backdrop for the senior portrait... |

Have a great time at your GTG. I guess I should have responded a lot sooner that I'm going to hook up with the Chicago GTG this weekend(since I'm right there!). I still would like to meet up in KY sometime (since home for me is still Cincinnati). |

Roll Call:
twm122, me and my hubby.
We will have to leave by 12:30 or 1:00 because I went ahead and booked those prom pictures at the Greenup locks and dam and then more at Greenbo Lake.
Who else is going to be here for sure. I know Phillip and I haven't heard from Dianne lately.
ETA: We are meeting at 8:30 am in the parking lot of the skylift.

Leah and I are still planing on coming unless something comes up.
BTW Red River Gorge is so close I suggest that any of you not familiar with the area at least drive through there, its a beautiful place
Other arches in the area, sky bridge (beautiful arch but with carvings on it from idiots), princess arch, and greys arch all 3 are in the area and easy to get to you. Also, you may want to drive through the Nada Tunnel... |

KY GTG - you guys need to check out towards the ends of threads...
Chicago GTG
Toronto GTG
There has been some smack talkin', and challenges issued, and gloves thrown down, and pistols drawn, and duels announced...perhaps a shoot out is on the way!

MayaM it's KY (Kentucky) KC is Kansas City.
Guys, these folks on the Chicago GTG are talking smack about us over and using the normal boring KY jokes, "Kentucky Fried Chickens."
