In my area the cable has this "on demand" thing, its similar to a digital VCR or somthing. In the upper channels they have these free services one has some shows for court tv and stuff. Well one of the channels is called DIY and they have hobbies, home and garden and other topics. One this month is about photography. Its like a class, they go into detail how to shoot action shots, how to crop images, how to use DOF and other different things.
Do you guys have this in your area? here in Kansas City its around channel 100 and a few above that. Most of these shows arnt on the regular channels they are like special interest shows. Its cool! |

Mike,
Yeah I get DIY channel with my digital cable package and have caught The Whole Picture a few times. Lately, it's been reruns of ones I've already seen. I bought my 10-year-old daughter a digital camera and have been trying to teach her photography so it's been fun watching them with her.

Thank you for posting this. We do have DIY and I just never noticed this show. My husband and I are both just starting out (with photography and here at DPC)and will hopefully benefit greatly from watching something like this. THANKS! |

In my area its "on demand" so that means you watch it when ever you want. I guess you can still record it but its not on an any certin time. Its on when ever you push play. It has a few commercials but its funny you can hit FF and pass right over em.
There is 5 episodes on mine, Action photography, Familiy photography, Optical photography, pet photography, and red eye photography.
Ive watched em all and it also goes into photo editing on each episode. They use a mac but it seems the program is almost the same thing as adobe on the PC. |
