Just following the example of so many people here and just set myself some goals for this year. I know, I know, I am a bit late since this really should have been done in January but the first one was actually set there, to try and enter something every week, well at least have 52 entries this year...

My goals for 2006:
To enter at least 52 challenges this year so far so good, IÂ´m on track, have entered 16 this year
Get at least 1 more ribbon than 2005 (4 or more) got 2 so far
Beat my high score of 7.491 not even close...
To ribbon with a b/w photo since I have never been good at b/w photography got close with my "Textures IV" entry

Am I doomed, does anyone think I can do this? Encoragement needed... :S

I'd like to see you add - Comment on 100% of a challenge. I know it's a lot to ask but something easily accomplished if you put your mind to it.

I have tried and I just donÂ´t see it happening without me resulting to "nice shot" and "Good one" for a couple of the photos as I just always find I have absolutely nothing to say about 1/4 of the photos in any given challenge. I just donÂ´t see the point in leaving comments like that, read over the last 25 or 50 comments I have given and youÂ´ll understand that I rather try to comment in quality rather than quantity. Good suggestion though :)

i commented on all 530 entries in best of 2004, as did samtrundle. i've done it in a few others. it definitely will wear you out, but i'm sure you could handle it ;-)

You forgot to add, "Be confident". I've noticed you seem to lack that. :P

Seriously, looking at your texture's entry I'd expect to see you ribbon with a black/white soon. Maybe you just need to enter more of those.

Good point about the b/w photography too, I just realized that of the 18 challenges I have entered this year, that was the only one in b/w!!! Gotta improve my odds on that one, hehe.

The odds are looking good for you. You've gotten top 10 in 6 of your last 10 challenges. Just keep your shutter clicking and you'll end up beating your highest score yet. You live in Iceland, and that almost guarantees a score of 7.8 somewhere down the line. ;-) Keep up the great work that you do, and you'll meet your goals in no time. Your already halfway there to your ribbon goal.

awe someone get this man a tissue. ok ok j/k. I'll settle for you "trying" to do it and comment on all the low scoring photos in the challenges at hand until you've suceeded. Keeping in mind the "nice photo" and/or "you suck at photography" do not count. lol

Yeah, IÂ´ll try to comment more, sure.

However, I donÂ´t comment for anyone but myself, to get a more critical eye for photography. Seriously, I donÂ´t think the best way to learn by using this site is by getting comments, especially from me but rather to give them as it trains your eye more to see what other people are doing, what you think is good or bad about their picture and what you would have done diffrently and also trains you to look objectively at your own pictures. I am not directing this at you, I see you are a buzy beaver in giving comments so I think you know exactly what I mean, I am just saying this out loud for people who might stumble up on this thread and havenÂ´t realized this.
